I have always found myself fascinated by fiction involving wizards and witches. Many individuals in these works of fiction, whether they be books, video games, or films, are specially chosen to receive magical gifts. They are born differently than others. Usually the protagonist is an average person who finds a power hidden deep within herself.
I have found that self-empowerment is often as valid a treatment for anxiety and depression as the many medications used to treat these illnesses. We have within us the tools needed to turn a difficult and stressful life in to one that much more happier and fulfilling. Here are a few tips for find self-empowerment followed by a design I created to remind others that we have great power within us.
- Be aware – Recognize your environment, your identity, and your abilities.
- Let go of the past – Stay present in the moment and recognize that the past is over.
- Develop a new mindset – Are your current thoughts, habits, and beliefs helping or hurting you?
- Don’t worry about the future – Surrender yourself to what is happening and accept each challenge as they come
- Trust – Trust your own judgment and trust other people in your life. Some may hurt you, but many will enrich your life.
- Relax – Mediate. Do what you like to do. You will find that you can reduce your level of the stress hormone cortisol.
- Share your greatness – Find others to empower and share the knowledge you have gained with others.
