Roseville Youth Group

We are definately going to Illuminate 2007, a youth conference at the Rochester Church of Christ. It should be a very exciting event. Pat Pugh will be the keynote speaker. Watershed Worship and Ekklesia, from Rochester College, will be leading worship. The event also includes performances by Jason Tomlinson of Spoken Word Praise and Ambassadors, a drama group from Ohio Valley University.

We will be car pooling to the event from the Roseville Church of Christ at 5:00pm on Friday, March 16. We will return at around 9:15pm. We will be car pooling again at 7:30am on Saturday, March 17 and returning at around 9:30pm. Lunch is provided on Saturday and we will be eating dinner on the town. Please let me know if you are available to drive.

The cost is typically $25 but I am using money from the youth budget to bring the cost down to $15 as I believe this will be a great event for the teens. $15 is due by Thursday, March 1. After Thursday, the cost will be $20. Make checks payable to John Wriston. Cash is also acceptable.

In addition to the youth conference, two seminars are being made available for parents for free. These include “Understanding Your Teenager” and “Preparing for College”. See John Wriston if you are interested in attending these seminars.

This week the Thursday night Bible study returns to the home of Lucky, Frankie, and the ravenous Pumpkin. Please let me know if the Thursday night study needs any kind of format changes. I am considering work sheets if they will actually be used. I am really enjoying our study of Revelation and I hope you are as well. Please remember to clean up my Guitar Hero guitars and DDR pads this time!

Hey all you crazy cats (and dogs)! The handful of us that were present on Sunday morning (during the Freezing Terror Storm of 2007), decided to have a spontaneous game night tonight at my house. It’s fine if you can’t make it as it is short notice. Even if it is just Eric, Lucky, Frankie, and I playing poker, it will be a good time. We will throw down some board games, Guitar Hero, DDR, and Nintendo WII! Bring a few dollars for pizza if you want to contribute.

Tonight we will be meeting at the Jamiesons’ to continue in our study of the book of Revelation. Contact John Wriston or consult the wonderful church directory if you need to know how to get to the Jamiesons’ house. Meet at the Wriston house before 6:10 if you need a ride to the Jamiesons’.

After experiencing a spiritual high at Winterfest 2007, we return to our obsession with the sport of the future. I have racquets available, but would really like everyone coming to racquetball to purchase a pair of safety goggles. I don’t want to have to explain to your parents why you have an empty eye socket. The cost is $4 and we will be playing at 7:00pm at Player’s Athletic Club, 13750 E 11 Mile Rd, Warren, MI 48089. If you want to ride with me, meet at the Wriston home @ 6:30pm.

     This Thursday we will be meeting at the Wilsons’ to continue in our study of the book of Revelation. Those who enjoy rockin’ out are welcome to bring their instruments of choice. We will be meeting at the Northeast Church of Christ @ 3:15p on Thursday, Feb. 15 to embark on our journey to Gatlinburg, TN. We should be arriving back at the Northeast Church of Christ @ 10:00p on Sunday, Feb. 18. Parents will be updated as we make our way back to Eastpointe. The Northeast Church of Christ is located on 9 mile at the corner of Gratiot in Eastpointe, MI. Contact John Wriston if you need a ride or have any questions.
