Hey there ladies and gentlemen! Yes, it’s that time again! Say “peace out” to June in style with a trip to the Wilsons’ for a rockin’ Thursday night. “Why is it rockin’?” you may ask yourself. Well… the Wilsons have a fantastic set up for whipping out the old musical instruments and jamming out a few tunes. Regardless of the existence of musical talent (I, for one, have zippo), we always seem to have a good time. So show up and bring your nearest word of God.

For those of you attending the “Tooth and Nail Tour”, I need $18 tonight. The concert actually starts at 5:00p, so we need to leave my house at around 4:00p on Friday. I can drive around and pick you up if that is needed. Give me a call or talk to me tonight if you need a ride.

Finally, I have finished designing shirts for the youth group. For youth group members, the shirts are $10 each. I really want us all to have the youth group design so we can wear it together at events like the happy little punks that we are. We are selling the shirts to obtain a little extra money for the youth group. The shirts can be seen by clicking here or by following the ‘Shirts’ link on the right side of the web site. Enjoy!

Thursday Night Study Canceled Tonight

I apologize, as tonight’s study has been canceled. The Simpsons are off to celebrate big Jim’s b-day. Awwwwww… family… If you would like to get ahead on what we are studying, read through the first few chapters of Galatians. It will give you a nice recap and help you to get your mind prepared for future studies. How do you feel about Thursday night studies or our activities in general? It seems like attendance is decreasing when is should be increasing as you bring your friends and family. Let me know what you think. To comment on this post, just click on the number to the right of the date and the little flower.

That’s right ladies and gentlemen! It’s another night of Great Awesome Marvelous Entertainment! This evening we will gather at my house and have enough fun to make our heads explode with delight. Bring your games of choice and I’ll bring the snackage (as well as the funk). Feel free to bring along a friend or two if you’d like.

As a reminder, if you want to go on the Pennsylvania trip (and I sincerely hope you do), $60 is due ASAP. You can lower the cost with the fund-raising you’ve accomplished. This is going to be an amazing trip and I don’t want anyone to miss it! Also, I want to purchase tickets for “Pirates of the Caribbean, At World’s End” tomorrow night so 6.75 is due for that. Finally, $18 is past due for “Tooth and Nail Tour 2007″ featuring MxPx, Hawk Nelson, The Classic Crime, The Fold, and Sullivan. PEACE!

Sara and I had a fantastic time at “Comedy for a Cause” this evening. I was incredibly impressed. The final act was a ventriloquist/comedian/piano player extraordinare and he blew my mind. Tommorrow morning is our first work day at Solid Ground, the homeless shelter just across Gratiot from the church. We will be sweeping and generally cleaning up the dust that has came as a result of the construction being done there. This will hopefully begin a long relationship of serving families who are in need and introducting them to our God. We are going to meet at my house at 9am for breakfast and then we will be at Solid Ground until around 1. I sincerely hope to see you all there!

Hey there all you crazy folks. Tonight is going to be a special Thursday night study. Besides continuing in the fantastic book of Galatians, we will be celebrating the birthdays of those of you I have not given the proper attention to in this respect. There shall be much fun and the peasants will rejoice. Please do your best to make it tonight. I know it’s the tail end of the school year and all of you are crazy busy, but I want this to be a special event.

4:30 pmto9:45 pm

This evening we are off to the magical city of Rochester Hills, Michigan to visit the glorious utopia of joy known as Rochester College. While the older peeps are shelling out $125 a ticket to eat a single meal and listen to the inspirational utterances of a highly decorated general, us young hipsters will be sharing in an evening of video games, pizza, scholarship giveaways, and the comedic stylings of the immortal Brad Montague. I am assured this evening will be some of the most fun you will ever have for completely free. We are meeting at my house at 4:30. PEACE!

No Thursday Night Class This Week

7:00 pmto9:00 pm

We will not be having Thursday night class this week as Sara and I are headed to see Katie Chincarini’s band concert. If any of you would like to attend the concert, it is being held at Warren Woods Middle School on the corner of 12 Mile and Schoenherr. The concert starts at 7pm. Katie will be the one rocking the trumpet, old school.

Don’t forget the Red Carpet After Party at Rochester College this weekend. We will be meeting at the church at 4:30 to head to Rochester for free pizza, video games, big scholarship giveaways, and comedian Brad Montague (a truly hilarious Christian comedian). We will once again be car pooling so let me know in advance if you need a ride to the event.

Elevate 2007

June 24, 2007 3:00 pmtoJune 30, 2007 3:00 pm

I really wanted to advertise this event a bit more to the youth group. However, I have not received much information from Rochester College regarding Elevate 2007. Elevate takes place June 24-30. It is an amazing camp held on the campus of Rochester College. Elevate includes crazy games, small groups, several exciting activities, engaging worship times, music, and amazing speakers. This year includes praise and worship by Shannon Williams, music by the band Salient, and the Emcee will be Chris Wise (a close and personal friend of mine). This year’s theme, “Hello My Name is…”, involves discovering our identity in Christ. You can pay through the web site http://www.rc.edu/elevate. The price is $175 before May 15 and $200 after. The money is well worth it. I have a lot of fantastic memories from Elevate and I hope you will as well.

Breakfast With Spidey, Luncheon Prep.

9:00 amto9:00 pm

Saturday is going to be an extremely busy and eventful day. In the morning, we will gather for breakfast and another insightful discussion of why we have faith in our Lord God. We continue attempting to answer the question: “If God is so good, why does so much evil and suffering exist in the world?”

At 10:45a, we will be heading to the AMC Star Gratiot 21 to catch the 11:30 showing of “Spider-man 3″. The cost of the ticket will be $4. Trust me, this is a quality piece of cinema that you don’t want to miss. Spider-man deals out some major ownage that will have you shouting “Oh, snap!”

At 6:00p, we will gather at the church building to decorate and prepare food for the Seis de Mayo luncheon. It is always fun to prepare for these luncheons and not incredibly difficult. Everyone who is present and works hard will receive a share of the proceeds. The money raised will go toward future activities including our summer trip to Pennsylvania and Winterfest. The same goes for the work done on Sunday. I hope to see you there!

On a side note, the first $60 for the trip to Pennsylvania is due on or before May 20. This will pay for the 2 day tickets to King’s Island and the Spirit Song music festival.

Come along to the Wriston home for lots of fun. Don’t be alone! Share in games and laughs and study. Come alone or bring a buddy! Sorry things were canceled at the Sabella’s. We’ll hang at my house with the ladies and fellas. Tonight we further study Paul’s letter to the Galatians. It’ll bring wisdom and knowledge to all the nations. Thanks for reading this cheesy rhyme. Just be sure to arrive on time! For those who don’t have school tommorrow, we’re seeing the midnight Spiderman 3 to end your sorrow!
