Happy Holidays!

Hello friends and neighbors! I am posting to let you know I am on CHRISTMAS VACATION! I am in Metamora, Michigan, spending the week with Sara’s parents. It should make for a relaxing and meticulously planned holiday. We will be eating great food, watching movies, and exploring the very limits of fun and family bonding. For those of you considering this as the best time to rob my house, my brother Paul is watching the ‘ol homestead with Lucky, Frankie, and the jugular ripping kitten named ‘Pumpkin.’ Even if Brink’s Home Security fails, Pumpkin’s blood-lust is insatiable. Feel free to visit as Paul will be a little lonely this week.

If you need anything contact Doug Allen at the church or send an e-mail to epsilon_rc@hotmail.com. I will do my best to reply in a hasty manner. Class will take place as usual on Wednesday @ 7:00p. We will be back for Sunday morning class. I don’t have much to report in upcoming activities other than that there is still the opportunity for us to attend Winter Camp @ MCYC in January. Camp takes place from January 11 to 13. The band Salient will perform. Worship will be lead by the immortal Steve Corp. There will be sledding, ice skating, sumo wrestling, gladiator jousting, and tons of other activities. It will be a fun time to have fun and grow closer to God. The cost of $75 is negotiable if absolutely necessary. Let me know as soon as possible if you plan to attend.

Finally, the first $25 for Winterfest is due Sunday, December 30. I want all of you to come as Winterfest is amazing! I look forward to seeing you. Have a great Christmas!!!

I think the most difficult part of starting any post such as this is narrowing one’s self down to the right greeting with which to start said post. Wow, that was an incredibly long sentence. I don’t suppose I will need a greeting after all that (dodged that bullet… *shew*). Anyhoo, there are a few important items to note this week so pay attention and read this again if your mind begins to drift. I know you are still thinking about that game last night or that boy you saw in the hall today so don’t think me unaware of how one’s mind operates. This week’s festivities begin on Wednesday with Dan Thibodeau and his world of intrigue. It’s the same great taste at an all new time, 7:00p. Be there or be less knowledgable of what expects for us (you expected me to say “square”?). Thursday night, we meet at ye olde Allen Street House for fun and games (I promise we will play something other than Rock Band, seriously).

This weekend is our first fund raiser for Winterfest. To save some money from your or your dear parental units’ pockets, we are having a bake sale. We are meeting at my house at 5:00p on Saturday to do the baking and selling the goods on Sunday. Be there for both times to maximize earning potential. Speaking of Winterfest, the initial $25 deposit is due on or before December 30. This year we are again staying at the Greystone Lodge. Transportation is still up in the air, but it looks like we are renting vans. Visit http://www.winterfest.org for this year’s line-up (note: I am hyped for the sand guy).

Finally, the annual Youth Group Christmas Partay is taking place December 21 @ 7:00p in the Allen Street House. Bring a reasonably priced gift for a “dirty Christmas/evil Santa/thief de noel” gift exchange. By reasonably priced I am thinking no more than $10 but shop as you must (I could use a new ipod nano). This is all I have for now. Remember to send me your ideas for winter activities. I am open to almost anything as long as it doesn’t include joining the Polar Bear Club.

Ahhh! The horror! The horror! Curse you Coney Island Polar Bear Club!

Oh baby, it’s cold outside!

Well hey there knowledge seeking internet traveler! Here again is the weekly update, brought to you by Skittles. Taste the rainbow! Alright, I don’t have corporate sponsorship, but I do have news! Just because I said there will be weekly updates doesn’t mean there won’t be updates throughout the week. Unless your internet is like Fred Flintstone’s and consists of a pterodactyl flying around with chiseled out rock slabs, you can afford the 2 minutes it takes to keep updated with youth group happenings.

There is nothing to crazy going on this week. Wednesday night class starts a half hour earlier at 7:00p. Thursday night class is again at the Allen Street House this week. I want to see more of you there. Give me any suggestions that you would like for activities or the subject matter of our studies. There is a parents’ meeting for Winterfest attendees after morning services this Sunday. Our first fund raiser for Winterfest will be December 16. We are having a bake sale. If you’d like to earn some cash for Winterfest, we will be baking on Saturday, December 15 @ 5:00p. Give me any ideas you have for future fund-raising events. We will be having dinners in January and February to raise additional funds.

Finally, our annual Christmas party will be December 21 at the Allen Street House. There will be games, prizes, and a yet to be determined contest. We will also have a “dirty Christmas” gift exchange with the trading and all that. Bring a reasonably priced gift (suggested limit of $10). I suppose that is all for now. During your respective winter breaks I’d like to hang out, so give me a call if you’d like to do something. PEACE!
