Bonjour mes petite croissants!
I was recently told of a youth rally taking place in the foreign land of Canada. (Where, according to Neal, they have square toilets) The rally takes place at Great Lakes Christian College in Beamsville, Ontario. This year’s theme is “Your Reborn Identity.” The speaker will be Jason Steckel from the Rochester Church of Christ and worship will be led by Watershed, who will also be giving a concert. We will be leaving the evening of Friday, April 18th and returning the evening of Sunday, April 20. The cost for the trip will be $50 plus extra for food, entertainment, etc. The cost of $50 covers all the food except dinner on Friday, lodging on campus at Great Lakes, all activities, the concert on Saturday, and transportation. Chaperones can attend the event for free.
I know this seems a little short notice for a trip to another country, but I only recently heard of the event. I am told it’s a really great event and it will give us the opportunity to make acquaintences in our neighboring country of Canada. The trip is about 3 hours, 30 minutes. According to the U. S. Department of State web site, each of us needs a U. S. Government issued photo I. D. and proof of U. S. citizenship, such as a birth certificate to travel to Canada. Those of you who have driver’s licenses will already have a photo I. D. Those who don’t will have to obtain a State I. D. I spoke with a representative from the Secretary of State who informs me that it often only takes a week to get the I. D. but one should give up to 3 weeks to obtain his or her State I. D. This means that if you don’t have one and want to go on this trip, you need to visit your local Secretary of State ASAP.
I will completely understand if no one can make it as this is short notice. However, for those who can make it, I will do everything in my power to make this trip a success. I will have to know if you are coming by Tuesday, April 1. Money ($50) is due as quickly as you can get it to me. If you have any questions, please call or e-mail me.

Canada, home of ice hockey, delicious maple syrup, and lots of beavers.

Hello all you crazy cooks!
I just wanted to let you all in the best kept secret in sports… wallyball! Tonight, we are visiting the Rose Shores Eastin Hotel on Little Mack for some wallyball action! The cost is $5/person. We always have a fantastic time. Hopefully, we will be graced again with the mighty presence of the one and only MAN-BEAST! For those of you who have yet to see the Man-Beast in motion, you will be in for a treat. We are meeting at my house at 6:30 for some games. If you want to head directly to the court, we are meeting there around 7:45. After the game, we are headed to Applebee’s for 1/2 off appetizers. Call me if you have any questions.

Just who is the Man-Beast? And… why didn’t John use a picture of Wall-E?

Well… I guess the conference at the Gateway Church of Christ is indeed intended for young adults from seniors in high school to young married couples. Sorry about the confusion. The set up sounded like the average youth rally considering the performing groups, the use of the word “rally”, and the giant photo of Optimus Prime used to advertise the event. Oh well… my apologies. Everyone out there who is a young adult including seniors in high school, you are welcome to come. Every is paid for including dinner. I just need to know who is coming for sure before the end of next week.

Hey there folks!
I somehow missed last week’s update. Oh well! There is no time like the present to correct one’s mistakes and accept the grace that Christ has offered to me. Well, before I get too off track, here we go! I had a great time at Illuminate and I hope you all did as well! We are only beginning this year’s events. There is still much to come in rest of 2008 and beyond. First, I recently learned of a “young adults rally” at the Gateway Church of Christ in Southgate, MI. Deeper Still, an amazing singing group featuring some of my best friends (one of them being my bro-in-law!), is performing as well as my hilarious associate, comedian Matt Perry. I don’t know the speaker, Steve Cloer, but he looks really nice. The rally, which I hope is meant for teens (I will tell you if it isn’t), takes place on Saturday, April 5th from 3 to 8p. Gateway’s web site doesn’t mention any cost, so I think we are covered for everything other than food. If you are interested in attending this event, let me know as soon as possible! I have to RSVP by March 28!
Class is Thursday night, as usual. We might be taking a trip to see Jake Bell play some roller hockey. I will make calls to you peeps. If enough of you are interested and I can find transportation, I will put information regarding the game on this site by tomorrow evening.
We are going to do a couple fund raisers in the next few months to raise money for our Pennsylvania mission trip and perhaps another trip to King’s Island so be ready for those. If you have any suggestions for fund raising or you liked something we’ve done in the past, let me know. If all goes well with money raising and I get this crazy bus license, I am planning a trip to Michigan’s Adventure in May. Along with the usual rides and such, there is supposed to be a couple bands performing (the head liner is none other than Hawk Nelson!). I will save details of this and other summer events for when I get some more details ironed out. I am still working on another YMCA lock-in so don’t fret!

This is Steve Cloer. See! I told you he looks nice! Look at that smile!

Hello everyone out there in internet land. Look out for all that rogue data and don’t get caught in the interweb!
Now with that nonsense over, we can get on with my weekly post. First of all, I NEED YOUR PICS. Bring them to my house, mail them to me, e-mail them to me, or do whatever you need to do so I can get more photos up on the site. I have been pretty bad about taking pictures so I need all the help I can get. I know most of you out there have a better eye for photography than me, so get to it!
Next on the agenda is Illuminate 2008. I know there are a lot of youth group peeps that did not give me money on Sunday to go to Illuminate. By the popular request of myself, I am granting an extension on Illuminate registration. You can get me money whenever it is convenient for you, I just want to make sure you are coming to this event! As a reminder, if you can’t read the post below, Illuminate takes place March 14 and 15. ANYONE can go. The cost is merely $25 for students and $10 for adults. We are going to have an amazing time, I promise you this. So, if you want to go, just let me know and make sure some time of payment is arranged before the event.
Finally, I am considering a new game designed to reward those who actually read this site. At least once a month, we will be doing something fun and almost entirely spontaneous. I will announce this event on the web site (and maybe Sunday morning class). Those who keep up with youth group happenings will be the first to know about these little events. It’s my way of saying thanks for supporting the web site and thanks for actually caring what’s going on with the youth group.
Remember, we have Thursday night class every week at 6:30p! Please make an attempt to come. Those who do usually have a great time! I have a lot in the works for this year as far as events go. If you have ideas for service, fun, classes, or anything else, please send them to me. You can always click on the little flowers on the posts to add comments. You can also write me at epsilon_rc@hotmail.com!

The Roseville Youth Group… We have more fun than a barrel of monkeys!
